CSR/FARMER GROUPS

Agriculture is the backbone of our business. It contributes massively towards our economy and we, as a nation, are able to make available various exotic goods to the world. At the same time, our farmers are also people who experience major setbacks during times that are agriculturally hard. We believe in giving back to the people who work hard to make our business possible. One of our main targets is to help our farmers reach better heights while contributing towards the growth of our economy all together. We work with a group of farmers situated in the uphill country areas of Sri Lanka. We have a mutual relationship with them and believe so much on the foundation of fair trade. In Sri Lanka, we offer the best prices to farmers for vanilla. We purchase vanilla from our farmers for $30 per kg (Rs 6000 per kg). However, during seasons where vanilla prices had a drop globally, we still purchased from our farmers for the same price although we sold for a lower rate. We continue to contribute towards their hard work and maintain a mutual give and take relationship.
